Well i don't know if this allready have been posted, but before i had huge problems with Titan Quest crashing all the time.
I tried to update it with the new patch but i didn't work as i had the nodvd crack (yes i bought the game but i dont like running around trying to find the dvds when i want to play).
So i reinstalled the game and patched it up and since i didn't know if the nodvd crack worked with the new patch i did this:
-Downloaded "Titan Quest No-DVD/Fixed Image" (the one on 25kb) from
www.gamecopyworld.com-Installed Daemon-Tools 4.03
-Installed Pr0t.Stop & SecuROM Loader v1.2
-Started Pr0t.Stop and pressed the "Hide" button
-Mounted the image with Daemon-Tools
-Started SecuROM Loader 1.2 and selected the Titan Quest.exe from the install directory
And to my suprise it hasn't crashed since... i have been playing for around 15h+ now and it all run smooth (well except for the fps drops but thats another story).
Hope this will help someone else.
Cheers \o
Here's a better guide that doesnt require pr0t.stop or any crack, just an image you make yourself from your original.
This solution works for about 90% of people who try it.
*TURN OFF ALL EMULATION PROGRAMS AND REMOVE (UNMOUNT) ALL VIRTUAL DRIVES*
1.) Download the newest versions of Daemon Tools and Curerom.
Daemon Tools 4.0.3 X86:
http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/down...tegory&catid=5CureROM 2.0.3:
http://forum.curerom.net/showthread.php?tid=91*Note: There is a lower success rate if you use CureROM Lite! Use CureROM 2.0.3!
2.) Uninstall Titan Quest, especially if you have attempted to use the no cd patch.
3.) Now, using Daemon tools, install or re-install the Titan Quest image.
4.) Now that Titan Quest is installed, close down Daemon Tools *but do not unmount the Titan Quest Image, just leave it mounted!*
5.) Start CureROM 2.0.3.
6.) Under "Profile.Shortcut Options", check "Create a new CureROM profile"
7.) Hit Next>
8.) Under Application, click the folder icon and browse to the folder Titan Quest is installed in. Usually something like "C:\Program Files\THQ\Titan Quest"
9.) Click on the "Titan Quest.exe" icon and click "open"
If you have dual cores, you might want to check off the "Run Application on a single/CPU/Core/Thread (Available). People with dual cores have reported stuttering when running Titan Quest, this will force your PC to use one core dedicated to the game.
10.) CureROM Anti-Blacklist Measures should already be checked off. Leave it that way!
11.) Click Next
12.) Under Image Mounting Software, use the drop down and select "Use Daemontools to mount my backup images".
13.) This is important! Under Backup Image, click the folder Icon and explore to where ever the image file of Titan Quest resides on on your PC!
Example:
C:\downloads\Titan.Quest.DvD.MuLTi5-TXT\DvD
Select the image file and click "Open"
14.) Skip to the bottom of the wizard and hit "next". Do not change the emulation options.
15.) Leave shortcut name as "titan quest" or change it to something else like "Titan Quest fixed" so you know which shortcut to use.
16.) Under shortcut locations, "create shortcut on the Desktop" should already be checked. If not, check it!
17.) Hit "next>"
18.) Hit "Save"
CureROM should create a new shortcut on your desktp. Just click it and it should load up Titan Quest and allow you to play with no crashing! A few people have reported "no disc" errors, but most have it work just fine.
To skip the intro videos and speed boot up time, rename the "Videos" folder in the install directory to something like "Video". It's a vast speed improvement to booting.
